Marie Amutan is the Technical Laboratory Coordinator at Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen. Her role involves managing and facilitating the science and engineering laboratories within the center by focusing on providing a safe and supportive hands-on learning environment for HECM faculty and students. Marie earned her Associates in Biology and Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Leadership along with her Masters of Business Administration. Marie's laboratory experience began in 2015 at South Texas College as a work study student in the biology department and made her way to becoming a Laboratory Specialist in 2017. In May 2020 she joined HECM as a Laboratory Technician II and later transitioned into the center's Laboratory Coordinator in 2022. In her free time Marie enjoys exercising, reading, and spending the weekends at the beach with her family.
